Ok here's the deal. I want to do flat bed. I've done a little flat/step and even a little rgn but its been 10 yrs ago. I've got a very strong rigging background(was a cert.rigger for 15yrs)worked const. Hanging iron and helped a family friend in the slow times with their rxr contracting biz, first question. I got own truck so who's the best company to rent a trailer from, who's got the best deal on tarps, straps, chains. Ect. I got an athority to run under and live mid west. Seem like 2 bucks plus is avg. Pay and can make it work for that easy...I have a spotless dmv record ,I'm just tired of doin the van thing.any help or sugestions would be appriciated. Fire away!!

I get what I consider to be good prices at Tarp Stop on equipment. Their prices are better than the prices I've gotten at Tri City Canvas, even with our LS discount at Tri City.
IMO. two buck freight, gross to the carrier, is low ball freight lately. I may consider it if desperate, but, I have seen no reason to for over a year.

    SHC Thanks this.

Look and see if CRST Malone would fit you. If intersted I can let you know the equipment cost and other operating cost are

If he has his own authority, or one that he indicated he could run under, I don't know why he would ever consider CRST Malone...:biggrin_2556: That would not make any sense...

Thanks guys. Yeah I want to try and stay away from leasing on with anyone. Want to rent a flat. Get a few tarps(I hope to run more loads that don't tarp than do)/the proper chians/straps and work the load boards and a few local conections I might have till I get my own customer/shipper list goin.but if I'm goin down the wrong way just tell me tho. Lol.

You may check with Best Tarps in West Memphis, AR. Truckpro sells binders and ratchets. I have gotten good prices on straps from them. Other than those, I would check online and see what you can find.

You may check with any local trailer dealer. Xtra Lease has a lot of trailers. Some of the national equipment leasing companies will only do business with established corporations. I know a company in Knoxville, TN that rents trailers, but have no idea if they rent out of state. The company is K & L Truck and Trailer. They sell new and used trailers as well as used trucks. They have a website that probably lists their phone number.

Be sure you read what you sign on a rental agreement. Some charge a monthly all inclusive fee,

others charge a small fee plus mileage. .03 cents for maintenance and charge per 1/32 of tire wear. your fee may vary.

in the end, it might be better to put $ down and buy one.
