The Union doesn't get a single penny from the companies. The only funds the Union receives is the monthly dues from the employes and then the company has to pay into the health and welfare fund an agreed to amont per employee. If they currently provide health insurance and a 401 program it will be pretty close to a wash.

 

you still dont get it. the employees that are trying to organize with the union pay the dues. it comes out of the wages of the employees, conway doesnt pay extra money to the union.

 

The small fee given up in Union dues is multiplied many times over in all forms of detention,premium pay and paid time off.

 

I'll say this. I just got a big fat raise again. It doesn't make up for the pension fiasco but I was genuinely surprised. I'm not a moron so I know this is an attempt to keep the union out, but health care premiums are staying the same and I believe I'm only behind UPSF now as far as wages. The Northeast Metro is now over 27 an hour and .64 per mile. I'm far from a company drum beater but I'm pretty happy with that. Has no effect on me but it's 3 years now to top scale. If they had just left the pension alone for those of us were hired with it there would be no union talk but that ship sailed back in 2006. Management at this company is getting the headache they deserve due to arrogance and a complete lack of understanding the people on the ground daily. The whole thing intrigues me.

nope, STILL dont get it, and i thought you knew everything about unions? i thought conway was going to have to pay up now? members dues go towards enforcing the contract btw, no one minds paying them......

As of right now hourly I believe you are higher than UPSF. at the end of their current contract they will be over 28 a hour and 72cpm. The mileage is still lower as UPSF is 67-68 I believe now
