Got stuck with the trailer blocking part of an entrance ramp(while committing the u-turn sin), called cops to make sure the situation didn't get worse, trailer was lightly scraped up against by another truck while the cop was directing traffic around it, I got an "improper lane usage" ticket, other driver was charged with a hit and run(he stopped and looked at the damage then went on down the road with a cop in chase). I tried to do the right thing, but it didn't turn out so well...but I think to myself..."it can always be worse". FWIW, I had about 6 months of driving experience. Rookie learning the hard way.

I've called the police several times to help out. Every time they were glad to help. Most thanked me for calling. Never had a ticket or anywhere close to a ticket. If you can update the poll, add an option like that and I will vote.

I had to call for help twice, separate times, both in Philadelphia. Cops were very nice and guided me where I needed to be. I thanked them, and they both said no problem. I guess that s where the serve part comes in

I blew a tire just before the on ramp in Ludlow CA. Walked back to the tire shop, he did not have the truck to get to me, but said I could back down the on ramp and get to the shop if I could.
There was a CHP at the gas station. The Tire shop guy said if it is so and so watch out-- he's an a-xxxx!
The cop had a hand full of stuff so I didn't see his name, but I had to ask for help.
He looked at me with a straight face and said "How much money you got?"
The look on my face must have been worth it's wait in gold!
He laughed and told me he had kicked my gator off the road and to go back to the truck and he would block the ramp.
One of the few CHP guys with a sense of humor--I'm glad it was not the jerk that day!

Wow Philly cops were nice? I live close to Philly and they have a bad rep. I guess it all depends on what part of philly you were in.

Was running through Illinois with a load that was 14 ft wide and 100 ft long. Came up to a bridge that was down to a single lane, wall on right side, and a drop into the water below to the left. "UhOh...I am on route, but there's absolutely no way I can make."
Traffic piling up behind me. Called the Illinois HP. He comes up, checks the permit. He's puzzled. "Why did you guys send this truck this way with the bridge under construction?"
"Whadayamean the bridge is under construction? The construction isn't due to start for another week!"

So, they shut down this 2 lane highway, and I have to back up for miles, and do a 3 point turn in the middle of some little town. Someone screwed up. Wasn't me. No need for name calling or finger pointing...I have a situation and this is what needs to be done. The cops have always been ready to help. I read Mr @Lepton1's comment and then I look at your choices. Interesting why you would want a poll.

Wow sounds liek that was a really problematic situation. I wonder how long that took to back up a few miles, Good thing you had help.
But i asked cause i hear horror stories. And id like to keep a clean record as long as i can.
I havent had to call the cops yet and i hope i dont have to ever but i wanted to see what the statistics would be if i had enough people vote on it who had have to call for help.

Had to call for help somewhere in North Carolina. The directions I was given led me to a dead end. I was told trucks kept getting stuck on railroad tracks so they closed crossing. It was pitch dark and I needed to blindside back on to main road. Cops had no problem helping and escorted me to receiver.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Well the first time I was on US 30 outside of Philly and came up on a 13'5" bridge, and they blocked traffic to allow me to back up and they escorted me back on track around low bridge. The other time I was picking up off US 1, got off one exit too early and wound up in a residential neighborhood, and got escorted out and given the right directions to where I was going to pick up
