K does this actually happen? I'd go ape #### if I go teams with my wife and some ####ing perve watched everything we did in the truck. Is this even legal?

It seems putting camera's in trucks are the rage right now, and I believe the insurance companies are behind it. They pretty much run the trucking companies. It would be interesting to see who would file a privacy lawsuit and see what the outcome would be.

the most common camera used (Drivecam or lytx) only goes off when triggered by cornering, hard braking or the driver sets it off manually and transmits 12 seconds of footage. They typically don't go off when parked.

and i guess one of the idiots made this comment way to put yourself and everyone else down

Why would you want a camera in a truck well I-81 is one of the reasons there is a truck crash everyday. Dry roads wet roads it doesnt matter. Maybe instead of cameras the trucking companies should be tryin to get places to park seems most states are reducing parking instead of adding it. foward facing camera YES anything else get a pair of underwear over it or black tape!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
just keep moving on from 1 company to the next......the shippers n receivers remain, but you pull for a different company....

I agree! It's pointless to having a camera facing the driver. With an elog that clearly shows the drivers name and duty status. Takes care of it.

Do we really want to believe that the companies that have these forward facing cameras are only going to peek in on you driving ONLY IF you hit the brakes hard, or there is some sort of event that would trigger such a response? Example..If they can watch when they want, why wouldn't they?
