Why are truck drivers always compared to fast food workers on this forum?

Its really not a fair comparison. Most CDL holders could never keep up with a fast food worker. And fast food workers for the most part weigh alot less. And they get more home time.

problem is they got the power to apply their rules to all eventually with their insurance companies and lobbyists.
drivers should focus on removing the incentives to put a new class of drivers on the highways every year.
the general public is shocked when you tell them these new semi trucks clogging our roads are mostly piloted by inexperienced drivers.this is our avenue to exploit.
when they can no longer risk losing experienced drivers and own liabililty for the actions of the trainees they might have to form smaller companies to reduce liability

Most fast food workers that I deal with can't think more than 1mph, let alone move that fast

It's like this, You get paid for the time you work. No more freebies for the company. And sleeping at home every night. You work out how many hours your happy rump is away from home and divide that by your income, because if you aren't at home, you're at work.

Nothing makes me want to punch someone in the mouth more than hearing "That's trucking" when doing free work, while being on camera, with elogs up your butt and sitting in a governed truck. After watching another retarded safety video filmed in 1986 on a bad DVD copy of a VHS tape.

Naw, it's like those red light cameras cause more accidents than prevent.

Actually, IMHO the real difference between a burger flipper and a driver is that one of these is a labor of love (because you're not likely to get rich doing it, but y'all knew that already). I remember growing up wanting to be a driver; no kid grows up wanting to man the drive-thru register at Burger King. Plus, you can get away with doing things at McDonald's that would get you fired or even killed in a semi. Besides, driving has a years-long learning curve; if it took you that long to figure your job out at the Golden Arches, you wouldn't have a job for long. For all the nonsense we see from our own kind out there on the road, I still think it's a noble profession in some ways. Most of the general public doesn't have what it takes to do this, and I think the industry-wide turnover ratio pretty much backs that up.

Our driver facing cameras caught this driver asleep at the wheel at the time of a serious accident. Because of this we will now be installing cameras inside your sleeper berth to make sure you are getting exactly 6-8 hours of sleep each night.

Don't think I've seen a truck driver who could waddle faster then a fast food worker in a long time. As far as thinking ability.... well, go sit in the truck stop awhile and then get back to me.
