License plate recognition technology.
Driver, your license plate was in Indiana but your log says North Carolina.

They are road weather sensors. https://rwis.indot.in.gov/0000000047/index.html
I will admit the one set of poles has a pair of rectangle boxes on them aprox. 1.5' W x 4" high, with red reflector like squares facing the other set of boxes across the highway.Terry270 Thanks this. -
Oh and there are not speed cameras (at least on US31) cause I've blown past them many times in the 10+ over range, in my 350z of course...
Terry270 Thanks this. -
just google right to face accuser in picture ticket case, supreme court says you have the right to face accuser and a picture taker has no way of testifying, so if ANYONE pays a picture taker ticket they are an idiot

We've got those up here in Alberta too. They even have an F150 in town with cameras on the front bumper to catch speeders. Tickets go to the registered owner of the vehicle but since they can't prove who was driving, no demerits are administered and it doesn't show up on driving record. Just a big cash grab IMO.
