I called them she said it’s either be hair or urine it when I check on indeed no where says they doing hair idk why she said that and as @Pepper24 said if I fail hair dt do they report that to dot or is that gonna impact my chance to get a job in another company thanks
Currently hair tests cannot be reported to the Clearinghouse, only results of a US DOT drug or alcohol test, a law enforcement administered test or actual knowledge of a drug or alcohol violations such as knowing a driver was cited of driving a CMV under the influence or directly observing an impaired driver. Hair tests are not actual knowledge despite the Truckload Carriers Association, ATA and the Private Truck Council trying their best to make it happen. Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
Dude, I am going to offer you some serious advice and think about it. Right now if you have a chance to get your ***** in the seat, do it. We have a very tight employment market for drivers. I have 200 applications for two positions to fill, and I will have those two filled very fast once I get through all the apps. I look for good drivers who are proven and willing to take the next step in their career. The market is going to be like this for at least until May of next year, if not going into August. We have too many drivers looking for work at the same time contraction of work with an overcapacity of trucks and carriers. My hope this will shake out the marginal drivers, crap brokers, and the very marginal companies so rates will go up to a decent level again. So take a job to get you moving and keep checking around because it ain't going to come to you at this point. Because if you sit there looking, you are going to lose money, and at 48¢ a mile is better than $0 check. oh by the way, I am old, I remember Eisenhower as president, so until I had an accident, I was doing flatbed/Deck work moving heavy objects. That was a few years ago. If I can do this in all kinds of weather in Michigan, YOU can do it too. And I would tarp in high winds or heavy sleet too.
I tarped loads in Chicago in the dead of winter with strong winds blowing. I looked at it as a challenge and refused to complain or lose the fight. I always won.
You can do your own hair test at home now if you want to check. I don't blame you for not wanting to submit to one though. 90 days back is just ignorant. You'll be able to do oral fluids as soon as they decide what labs will be able to send the specimens into. You were smart to home test on the urine btw. A failed screening is a career killer.
Thanks for the advice I have a clear background no criminal records and for getting 47 cents instead of zero I need to say I do have a job right now and I’m not happy about the pay that the only reason I want to start trucking if I go for that offer I would only make 1000 more than the job that I have I work with clients usually one or two per week and I get paid hourly so it’s not like I don’t have anything and even if I want to do that I will only do it for the experience I called my friend he start with western and he said it’s not worth it and I also understand what you said but I would rather to vans instead of that
I was actually skeptical about the urine home kit so I did a dot regulated urine test in a lab it came negative
I've been using them for decades. They're cheap and effective. Last thing you want to do is fail a UA.
I totally get that and I appreciate the words but I’m sure you were not doing it for 47 cents if they at least paid 55 or 60 that would make sense and I would definitely do it but for 47 cents I need to leave my job and I will just make something extra not too much
I don't remember the CPM, but it was far less than .47cpm No tarp pay either. That was the best I could do at the time, so I took it. I refused to flip burgers or punch a time clock in a factory. But, that's just me and I've never cared what others thought about that.
