Another cool story bro…
A buddy of mine has his own mobile repair company and he’s been down this road. Your driver acting as your agent would not be able to leave with the truck. Depending on the dollar amount, they could be facing felony charges if they did leave.
Can a bent wheel rim prevent the trailer tandem pins from going in when knob is pulled?

You get a gold star @Hammer166
it took me reading 3 or 4 of his posts in this thread before I remembered what a weak troll he isBud A., Kyle G., kwswan and 1 other person Thank this. -
I understand, this was a CRST team at Love's in W. Memphis a few years back. Regardless of the severity, the right thing to do is get it taken care of while it's under your responsibility.

It’s mmy experiance that most mobile mechanics know the security people and yard drivers at these places. They also know they well might be the one getting the call to come back and be stuck working on that very trailer forcing them to have to waste travel time, work overtime and such. In both scenarios as well as common decency I don’t blame him for telling and actually support his actions based on common decency alone!
“didn’t do his job”? Let’s tackle that, the steering wheel holder and the boss didn’t want him to do his job and sent him away! I only hope if he had to return he charges you an extra fee for being a Jack A the first time around and trying to wiggle out of fair charges for what was done. -
I am not a troll. I have never been a troll. I had an IQ of 117 before I created this thread. I still have an IQ of 117.

Definitely a troll. Part of me is kind of surprised he is allowed to keep posting here, given his history of stirring up crap. But I suppose he isn’t technically breaking any forum rules so...

I use a big ball peen hammer to thump tires and it can be used as a crutch to lean way over and inspect backside of tires and underneath. Anything suspicious I crawl under for a closer inspection. If a tire sounds slightly different out comes the pressure gauge . I also thump tires and take a quick look at each stop . 28 years ago trainer told me a vehicle inspection is a living document until the day is done and should be modified if vehicle’s condition changes .

So you were trained by lazy people and the laziness continues with you. Oil can leak on the inside since that’s where the wheel seal is at.
And you’re right, the places I’ve been are above average carriers. I wouldn’t lower myself to work with lazy drivers at sub par carriers. -
I didn't know that the wheel seal is on the inside. Are the wheel seals only on the inside on trailer wheels, or are the wheel seals on the inside on the drive wheels and steers too?
Are these places that you've been that are above average carriers small trucking companies, or are they mega carriers?
I think that the pre-trip inspections topic is worthy of its own thread. I might create one. -
