Can a bent wheel rim prevent the trailer tandem pins from going in when knob is pulled?

Oh, come on! No one of your intelligence level can unintentionally be so obtuse. There's been occasional slips in your prior posts, but this thread has several ridiculously over the top posts by you.

Sorry, you misunderstood. The payment would be made, and the truck and driver would be released, but after the fact here is what would happen.

I would or one of my managers would call the credit card company and file a complaint against the company telling them they did not perform the work as hired and we will not pay the charge. Now if it is AMEX or Visa, that process doesn't take long, Mastercard ... well it does. Then I would have my lawyer read the driver's notes or any documentation about the incident, which then he hands the problem off to one of his people who files a complaint in Buraecacy language to the state where these guys are licensed in. Usually, the complaint is answered by the state in a couple of weeks and they deal with it.

Now you can see where you misunderstood what I was getting at. I am not in a pissing match with anyone, I know what can and can't be done and use the tools to fix problems that others create, so I will reiterate my point, the mobile mechanic stepped out of line when he went to the guard and opened his mouth to screw his customer.

You send trailers into customers with known defects?
You are one of the reasons that my buddy will not take credit cards from out of state companies.
You made a comment about ethics earlier. Maybe google “integrity “.

So you think your refusing to let them fix an obvious issue is grounds for refusing to pay for services that were performed? As pointed out you have no ethics and I would laugh when your refusal to correct the issue is noted as customer refused to have work performed on the notes and they let the payment stand.
I would also laugh when they are the only ones able to give service in a timely manner and choose to make you wait extra long next time and refuse to let your truck leave till payment is secured or as my friend has done just refused to service your truck when the note on his computer says “Don’t service/ Doesn’t pay bill”

It was your driver that is trying to get into that shipper with a flat tire that by all rights should of been fixed before he tired entering
I thought I read earlier that your reasoning to not pay the Mechanic was because he advised the guard of the flat tire and it was not his job to do so..and you were upset because the delay cost your truck another load
JMO but thats on you & your driver for trying to pawn off a trailer with a problem on somebody else so it would benefit your schedule.. so.in my opinion your as self centered as the OP.. maybe even more cause you trying to sto payment on services Rendered.. because the Mechanic F..ed up your game plan
You know what I would find Ironic is if your truck had to pick that loaded trailer up from that shipper and it had a flat tire and the delay cost your truck a good paying load which in turn was a missed Opportunity for even a better paying load . etc. etc. all over 1 flat tire ..
As they say Karma can be a ######
I'am sure it matters not to you and you won't loose sleep over my opinion
I've always had alot of respect for you as a fleet owner and manager
I actually very suprised that you would take this approach to this scenario

This post is the MVP of the thread.

The trailer did have auto-inflate on it. My supposition is that there must have been a faulty valve allowing air to keep flowing to the tire with a bent rim, and this great deal of leaking air lowered the air pressure so much that there was not enough air pressure in the trailer to move the tandem pins in when I pulled the tandem release knob.

I just found a bent wheel on a trailer that was dropped outside our gate over the weekend. Should I try to slide the tandems or not? What do you guys think? I need at least two second opinions to every second opinion.

I say try to slide the tandems
Then let us know how it went and then question every post made in refernce to your finding
Make sure you document every thing you did while try'n to slid them and explain in thorough detail why you did what you did and make sure you make it clear if something goes wrong none of it is your fault because you didn't know
Keep us updated on your findings

I tried to slide them but the pins were stuck as usual. It’s Monday and I’m to good to find a hammer and spray lube and beat them loose so I called road service guy out to replace the wheel. While he was here he tried to release the pins with no luck. He then informed me that the reason they would not release is he brought me a five hand hole wheel as a replacement and the trailer actually has two hand hole wheels on the 7 other tires. Now this brings up another dilemma. Is that a dot violation and oos infraction that can make me be fired?
