OK you got a Level 2. had a flat and now being dinged for 8 points on his license?
Did he get a moving violation ticket or just the violation from the inspection?

Many years ago I drove for a big manufacturing company, like top 50. They tried to charge drivers for damaging equipment. Didn’t actually happen, but they tried.

There’s no points on an overweight, just money, last one I remember was 24,900 pounds over and it was just pay the $480 and have a good day, thought a flat was just 2 points but I’ve yet to be dinged for that one yet

It’s getting more common nowadays, whether directly or indirectly. Even reputable companies are starting to love their safety bonuses. They’ll make safety/performance bonuses a considerable amount of expected pay (~500 a month) and take it away for the simplest things.
I think it’s BS to get charged by a company for something not from neglect. Flats happen, and sometimes no way of knowing while rolling down the road if it’s a simple puncture on an inside trailer tire. I reckon it could be from neglect, but most drivers at least thump tires and check pressure, I’d hope.
A lot of companies will expect drivers to pay overweight fines, especially in general freight. Agriculture companies that get paid by the weight probably wouldn’t hold it against the driver.Another Canadian driver and Oxbow Thank this. -
