Where did you get the blue J hook and who makes them? They look thicker than most.

If your trailer is setup for them. You can get them through your trailer manufacture/dealer.

Cummins_444 is correct, the trailer has to have the j hook track when it's built. However the Verduyn Eagle tarp system I have on a Mac flat has a J hook track built into the tarp track rated for 6,600#. That trailer has 2 inner tracks next to the main rails, 2 on the outer rails and 2 on the tarp track. Between 6 j hook rails and all the pipe spools you have more than enough anchor points.

I've got the j hook track and Mac sells em but they're pretty spendy. Just wondering if there was a place that sold em for less.

Not sure what Mac's price is but Royal Truck and Trailer in Dearborn MI sold me some for $16.32 and they ship. Just make sure you price the right ones, some are for straps only (they're stamped with "flat hook only"), others are for chains (small hole) and some are for both.

They're still cheaper than the other brands
East J hooks were $19.03 from East
Reitnouer hooks which bend easily are $18.50 for 6" and $31.00 for 9" from TarpStop. You might call TarpStop, they don't list Mac hooks on they're site but they may have them.

They're not interchangeable either. A Reitnouer hook will fit a Mac but not very well. My Mac hooks won't fit the East at all, not sure about Benson.

I'll check out Royal Truck and Trailer. Thanks. I was thinking a hook was a hook. Didn't realize they were so brand specific.

Thyssenkrupp buys all bright yellow Quickdraw tarps. A dealer took a bunch of they're trailers on trade, the company who bought them didn't want the tarping systems. So to get rid of tarps they had all the curtains "inked" black.:biggrin_2554:
