CAN A FEDEX SWITCHER BECOME A LINEHAUL DRIVER

    Some terminals ive seen, they have dockworkers driving those yard jockey trucks. Fedex Freight certifies employers to drive jockey just like when they certifie dockworkers to drive forklifts.

    FXG switchers do not have to have a CDL -

    We have a training program to replace the one year experience.

    Basically - I can bring a new guy on right out of driving school and supervise them for 970 hours of road time.

    This must be completed in 9 months or less and replaces the "one year".

    I know several people that have done this program - seems to work out better than a lot of the "run with a trainer for 30 days" programs at OTR companies.
