I think you may be overthinking. Depending on what you want to do and which company, you just need a CDL. I suppose some of these mega OTR companies and some other large companies require some sort of accredited program. I just got went out and got my Class A and went to work for a small construction company and got experience in liquid and dry bulk tankers, flatbed, transfer/bottom dumps etc. It just depends on your goals.

Are you trying to be facetious?

To make it simple for you. States only issue licenses (CDLs). Only state that has instituted the guidelines of the FMSCA is WA. And even there, work arounds are available.

Until other states ratify and institute the FMSCA guidelines Entry Level Driver Training or training certificate of any sort don't mean a thing towards a CDL. You can get your CDL without any driver training.

. Who said that? Work on your reading so you don't confuse other readers. I said you can get a CDL with formal training or schooling.

No your not at all clear. You misunderstand entirely how the FMSCA works entirely and you are confusing others.

ELDT is a set of guidelines not regulations. The FMSCA does not issue CDLs or licenses; the states do. Until the time the states ratify the ELDT guidelines, you can get a CDL in every state without taking any formal training.

This will only happen when the states institute the FMSCA's guidelines. Not before. It has not happened yet in 49 states so it is no issue to most new prospective drivers yet.

And by the way in the one state it has happened in for now eight years, none of those guidelines have been enforced.

No it is not a regulation; states haven't instituted it yet. If you read carefully before, I stated several instances where the guidelines have been ignored in the past. Given that history who knows what will happen in the future.

Doubt anybody spends a second working on it.

So now you are contradicting yourself. Before it ELDT was an issue for getting a CDL now it is something someone might worry about in the future.

The best companies do not care about training school certification. Most want experienced drivers or will train drivers themselves.

Yes the mega-crap puppy mill companies set up a phone certification (outside the FMSCA) in order to sell more company training school.

Which has nothing to do with training school.
