System-TWT has a yard in Fontana. Go to their site, give them a call and see what they say. They'll either take you or they won't, but it doesn't hurt to try and they are a good company. I'd drive for them again.

OK. This is how I felt about Werner "the big blue screw". All of you told me.. I didn't listen and life went on.

To be honest about Swift. They are treating me ok. I'm based out of Phoenix (headquarters).

Things have shifted in the way they treat drivers. It's more of a respect/retention kinda atmosphere.

If you go in there with an attitude.. YOU WILL GET ONE BACK.

If you're based out of Memphis, I'll tell you straight up - You're $#%#&^!!!!!

I don't know any Swift driver that's based out of any other terminal that likes the Memphis Terminal. This is coming from many conversations with other drivers and my own experience with the Memphis Terminal.

I don't know know if their feelings are still crushed from the buy out of M.S. Carriers (didn't that happen like 10 years ago????) or what, but all I can say is that my life is a whole lot better when I don't go there.

With all that said and I'm sure everyone knows this all too well - SWIFT IS A TRAINING COMPANY.

So a level head will get you farther down the line.

That's my 2 cents.. I'm going back to my cubby hole now.

    Peace!

Yes, you have been warned. And yet, you still come off as a ####y little spoiled 3 year old. You can act like you have work ethic, but with your attitude, I highly doubt that.

You can have that outlook on life, but eventually it's going to get you popped in the mouth. Do you even have the slightest clue what you are about to get into? I know that you popped off with some crap about being a family business, but I doubt that as well.

If your parents brought you up that way, and they are drivers, then they are obviously not sparkling examples of what a professional is. Do you really have skin that thin? You are in for a treat!

You could have checked out JB, US-X, CFI, and a whole HOST of other companies. Maybe, you could have asked?

But, then... You have the perfect outlook to drive for Swift, so you'll blend right in with the rest of the morons that works there. I am not saying that they are all morons, just a lot of them.

6 months from now, you'll be sitting in some BFE truck-stop with no showers waiting on a load for the third day and wondering where you went wrong. You'll know the answer then, but I doubt you'll ever lay some of the blame on yourself.

This business is only 10% driving, the other 90% is customer service, and safety. If you fly off the handle like this here, then how in the hell are you going to keep your tongue in check when a customer messes with you? I don't think you can. Sit back, take a flippin chill pill, and maybe listen to what people here have to say, because you my friend, don't know ANYTHING yet.

I only know what I do because I listened, and studied, and strive to learn. Attacking someone who has a different view is going to get you nowhere...

Act like an adult, get treated like one. Act like a child, and nobody will respect you.

Good luck growing up though, I wish you the best of luck, because you're going to need it.

here's an idea for recent CDL school graduates. Go apply at Pepsi, Coke, Bud., Miller, etc. It is hard work, but it pays alot better than most OTR starter fleets, you are home everynight, and you get a workout. I obtained my CDL B and then CDL A shortly after starting at Pepsi. I put in my year and then jumped ship to Saia Motor Freight. Looking back, I would not have done it any other way.

FYI new drivers: the LTL industry is where you make the most money as a company driver usually. When i started at Saia i made $40,000 the first year, $50,000 the 2nd and 3rd, projected for $55-60,000 this year. I'm home every morning as well. Just something to look into once you have 1-2 years under your belts.

I hated the Memphis terminal when I was driving for them. I was sent there to pick a new tractor for me, and had to wait 4 days. At least the put me up in a hotel..

I will say this now that Jerry has taken back that co, things should look a whole lot better. I have heard once that he went into the terminal and saw all kinds of drivers just sitting. He went up to the dispatch window and asked " Why are all these drives sitting?" Response "there aren't any loads. Well he fired all the dm's at the window and found loads himself for the drivers. If a driver said "no" then he fired them on the spot..
