Can a non CDL class C licensee drive a non combination class 8 vehicle (bobtail)?

    No no no.

    Those are interchangeable terms.

    GVW and GVWR are the same but for some ungodly reason the companies that build vehicles have screwed with the terms to mean different things, so seeing I'm older than dirt, it is GVW to me.

    With the exception of passenger vehicles and Hazmat a CMV begins at 10,001 and above. That 26,001 thing is about having a CDL.
