Any interest would help pay expenses.
    So you'd get more $$$$$.

you don't pay my expenses, I do.

I do the load, I want to be paid in a timely manner.

Holding funds, "until the end of the month" is not in a timely manner.

The regs do not allow you to hold money for O/Os leased to you. They must be paid within 15 days of submission of paperwork.

This is why I won't even consider leasing to these small, start up carriers. They don't even know the regs that they are operating under. But, I do!

So you are not willing to offer any payment terms?

You'd get enough on your weekly check to pay expenses,

Than once a month this huge check, interest included.

It would be a matter of budgeting, until the next month.

The only payment term allowed is within 15 days, by law.

As someone that is leased on to another carrier correct. I assumed he was talking about people having their own authority.

I was leased to an O/O once,
A farmer from MN as a matter of fact,
    A very nice man,
I drove my truck, I pulled his trailer a reefer
I found my own loads and he paid me 85% of gross
I had to wait until he got paid before he paid me
He explained this in advance and I agreed
It took sometime ,for some to pay but when they did I got some huge paychecks
    $15,000 was probably the biggest

    Sure .....

90% of gross. Due in 10 days after submission of paperwork (electronically).

You pay 100% of cargo insurance and load boards. Do all billing and carrier packets.

I pay phys dam/liabiliy (bobtail), IFTA, Base plate, PrePass. I also will book 100% of my own loads. BOL will be scanned and submitted same day delivered. Snail mailed weekly.

Still doesn't make it legal, does it?
If he didn't pay you, you would have had no recourse, as you were operating illegaly, also. Then we would have seen complaints, in the forums, about how he screwed you over, even though you had allowed it.

Those regs were written, many years ago, to protect the O/O from unscrupulous carriers. I have no sympathy for those, that operate, outside of those regs and lose their butts.
