Can a recent CDL graduate purchase a NEW truck and start out as an Owner/Operator?

    Banks don't care if you even have a CDL or not. I never financed a truck but I know they mainly look at your credit score, down payment, and ability to repay the loan. That said I am not encouraging you to do this for many reasons. What is your motivation for doing this instead of just driving for a company for a year first?

    With excellent credit and some cash to work with, you don't need dealer financing, which is a rip off anyway. I finance my trucks myself using unsecured credit and save a tidy bundle over what dealer financing costs. There is always a way around the road blocks, if you want this bad enough, you will MAKE it happen.
