Quite understandable given the war zone that sandtown neighborhood is.

I've been driving in the 5 boroughs of NYC for 22 yrs. Lots of low bridges. Not one is marked the right height. I pass under 12' 1" marked with 13'6" trailers all the time. Real simple method to it. If the bridge/overpass has strike damage, it less than 13'6", if it looks like it's never been hit, it's more than 13'6". If you need a route to get somewhere in NYC just ask me.

Why would you not want to go there?

I assume you’ve been there several times.

My company is no forced dispatch to NYC, that is the only city that is non-forced dispatch. I made sure of that when I signed onto the company. My company even allowed me to take the outer loop when I was driving from the Greater Boston Area to the Newark, New Jersey area. That way I wouldn't have to even drive on the interstates through NYC.

That said, again, you should confirm the no forced dispatch before signing on.

But, I would also like to say you don't have to get out or buy your own truck if you refuse to go to places that you don't want to go. You don't have to drive through places you don't want to go through. Plenty of local jobs in the smaller towns/cities. Most beer companies will take on new or little experienced CDL holders too. Trucking is big and vast, don't think you have to go to places that you don't want to go to because you don't. That's the great thing about America, it's big, and in the trucking world there's a job catered for you if you don't want to do the big cities.

Plan route into NYC and stick to it and it’s all good. Don’t move without preplanned route

although there are a "few companies", that are not no force dispatch, they are still in a very small minority.
