It's almost impossible for a foreigner to get a job in Mexico because of Mexican law. There aren't any jobs down there anyways. Why do you think they all want to come here?

My kid read the post and I asked her, her opinion. She speaks fluent Spanish among a couple other languages, and has a lot of Mexican and central american freinds she talks to almost daily.
She said you will need a degree to get a proper cert for second language teaching and there are a lot of people who are first langauge speakers doing this without certs so competition is high. A lot of them have been doing translation, a few have been going into the medical translation field because the money is good.
She was considering a mini career into this, allowing her to make some money on the side but she's been doing very well in finance.
The other thing when she read the OP was this "finishing the task of learning spanish will be the final thing to keep me from making the big move."
She said and I agree that if you are going to teach people english, then do it right, learn the langauge first, get fluent in it and then move to polishing your english skills, which you will need to do to teach proper English.Bud A., nextgentrucker, TX2Day and 3 others Thank this. -
Not many countries will allow foreigners to come in and take away work from it's people unless it's a specialized type job in high demand. These are almost always white collar type jobs.

I remember the study Chemical leman's VP made before their first interline @ Nuevo Laredo.
The fact that non-Mexican nationals cannot hold a Mexican CDL along with they do not recognize non-Mexican CDL's was the reason to interline. The chaos of just dropping a unattended tank necessitated making arangements with Mexican carrier with a fenced drop lot as our interline partner.
OP cannot operate a CMV in Mexico.Bud A., nextgentrucker, TX2Day and 1 other person Thank this. -
Good advice here. My reasons for NO, when cfi down at the Laredo terminal was talking about pretty soon their drivers could deliver down there instead of dropping and waiting for a reload:
1. I love our paved roads here, no dirt roads for me+unless I got a lot lizard sitting on top of me!
2. I love indoor plumbing and toilets and just disgusts me to see trash cans in the rr that are full of toilet paper that's been used!
3. Yo soy no habla or comprende Espanol. Yo is looking for a pretty young latina to teach me though!
And yes you best be fluent. They come up here and don't worry about having to speak our language, but if you go there you better believe they'll expect if not demand you to speak and understand theirs! One thing I do love about my brown skinned brothers is that they do have a good sense of humour. Be aware that no businesses down there dont open untill 9am. 9am everywhere down there!bzinger, Wargames, nextgentrucker and 3 others Thank this. -
