If the ticket comes from a speeding camera it cannot be enforced unless a officer serves it to you in person. It is the biggest scam that exist. Nothing will happen to you at all if you throw it away. I have done so on the couple I got in Arizona years ago. As well as family members. It is a way to make money nothing more nothing less. All those speed cameras are monitored and issue tickets from a 3rd party company. Not the state

That's really bad advice. While I agree they are a revenue scam (at best), ignoring a ticket is a bad idea. All it takes is the officer reviewing the footage and it is a legal ticket, which is what Ohio is doing now. Iowa they have full force and effect.

I dont know anything about the Midwest. Maybe it is a state by state basis. In arizona they cannot do anything to you without a police officer serving you in person.. It is all done by a third party company.

They cannot prove it was you who was driving. The tickets are sent to the registered owner. How can they prove without a doubt that it was the owner of the vehichle driving? That ticket has no basis in court. As all traffic tickets in person are given to the driver of the vehicle regardless of the owner.

:where they get permission from the Judge to mail a copy via certified mail and tape or post a copy of the citation to your garage or front door."

All they have to do is serve you, and you are responsible for the fees associated.

I’ve gone over the one that is on I-85 in Alabama. One time, a few months ago, the weekend (early Saturday Morning like 0600) after the Big Enforcement Blitz… I rolled over it and there is a cut out a few miles down the road that they flagged me into. They run my license while they put me on the portables. I only had 10,000 lbs in the cooler so I wasn’t to worried. They were stopping trucks at random it seemed…

One could argue that is not a reasonable way to serve someone.what if the paper blows away in the wind? How could they ever prove that one has been served ?

When I read your 1st post about this, I remembered something on like 60 minutes or something on this topic in Arizona.

One could do more than argue. However "reasonable" and "legal" and "accepted way of doing it" are three different things. One can also more than argue that traffic violation cameras do nothing to promote safety or compliance. Studies show that just putting up a warning sign does more to encourage compliance than tickets, especially when the sign gets put up for only a few weeks at a time.

All I'm saying is "just toss it" can be very costly advice. Even if the vehicle is from out of state, the vehicle owner's driving privileges or the vehicle's registration can be suspended in the state were the violation occurred.

I just know in Arizona they can't and wont do anything about it. Although the ticket in the mail will threaten jail time and warrants. It is a baseless threat trying to get you to pay. Can't speak for any other state

Plus how can they prove that it was actually delivered to your address and not lost in transit?
