1) Massachusetts is an INTRUSIVE state. This case proves it.
2) HOPEFULLY, the drivers with the 2 or 3 DUI's from many years ago, do NOT run into this same situation, especially in Massachusetts.
3) We are VERY SERIOUSLY talking about people's livelihoods, people being able to take care of themselves and their families.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
Can any state pull your CDL for dui from 15yr before you got your CDL? They just did!!!!

2) What is also EERIE about all this, is that all this occurred in the state of Florida, NOT in Massachusetts.

So now they are trying to fix things at their DMV but this thread shows they are screwing that up too.FoolsErrand, Truckermania, Accidental Trucker and 11 others Thank this. -
Did you try to renew your license in Mass? Is that how they got involved? If FLA issued it and it wasn’t a problem for them than they would have renewed it without a care.
Sounds like Mass did a background check on someone wanting to be a new resident from a southern state and now they are gonna make your life miserable for it.rachi Thanks this. -
did you get a roadside inspection?
did you get pulled into a portable scale house?
did you run a red light, that had a camera?
if you have an EZ PASS, was the account paid up before you went thru any MA tolls, if you have ever been up here..?????
prior to EVEN GETTING your CDL, had you been up here?
there should be no reason for MA to even get involved with you, unless you had been up here, in the past, and something is showing up in thier tickets, fines, whatever files, and your name popped up.
MAKE SURE the EXACT NAME, birth date is given to the lawyer, for him/her to check intoMatt1924 Thanks this. -

Check if the Florida Trucking Association can help you
https://www.fltrucking.org/resources -
Every trucking company looks at DUI's when hiring.
Some say "none in a life time" or "none within last 5 yrs." , etc.
~
This is from TransAm website:
TransAm Driver Requirements:
- Valid CDL-A
- Minimum 21-years-old
- No DUI convictions in last 2 years
- No more than 2 preventable accidents in last 36 months
- No more than 1 preventable accident in the last 6-month period
snowwy Thanks this. -
the short answer is im screwed!
the FL dmv says i am not disqualified for the two dui. but that mass has disqualified me for cdl for life. due to " 2 major offenses"
Mass has no obligation to share what those offenses are with any other state,
if i want my cdl back, i have to pay 3500 for a lawyer to appeal the decision.
And here is where the crap gets deep. the appeals court has been closed since 3-2-2020 due to covid-19, and will be indefinitely,
and my withdrawal was filled 2 weeks after the appeals courts closed, so even if i am correct and they made a mistake, i cant do anything about it. till they feel like it... -
There's more to your story than your telling, First you can contact them they will tell you what the offense's are, second I don't believe for a hot second that you do not have any knowledge of 2 offenses bad enough to block your license for life.
No one on this board is going to give you some magic formula the make your issue go away, contact DMV in Mass, ask for a hearing and go find out whats up.Matt1924, Sirscrapntruckalot and buddyd157 Thank this.
