It’s one of the reasons why I told him his story was messy. It’s like telling someone that he’s a great fighter after getting KOed 5 seconds into the first round.
Right here. OP, you’re tying your own hands. After a big KO like you got, you’re going to have to prove that you’re a good driver. Not knocking you, hand, but you’re having trouble finding employment. Priority one is to get your foot back in the door. If that means being a company driver, so be it. You’re trying to go back to doing what you were doing (and not making money)…that’s insanity.
The truck repairs, the dashcam repairs, the $200 thingy to the Mexican woman, the 6 years as an owner op, the refusal to be a company driver….it all sounds TERRIBLE.
“Hi. I am a driver with 7 years experience, but unfortunately I rear ended a car and now have trouble finding employment. What are my options? I live in Phoenix, but am willing to relocate.”
Less is more to get your foot in the door.

Look, right now we have a carriers employment market, so jobs are not easily found as it was. Take out the non-qualified drivers, then we will see a turnaround.
that said, stop using stupid words like very minor, and sand on the road, and all the other crap.
the other thing is this don’t ever offer any compensation to any victim. Get your lawyer involved to protect your a s s.
and your detailing the entire incident like you are innocent, you hit someone, it was a preventable and your fault.ColoradoLinehaul, TurkeyCreekJackJohnson and TripleSix Thank this. -

I have only applied to two lease purchase companies that have a better offer. All other companies I have applied for, are company positions.

You should try all the local and regional small companies in your area.
1. There are more of these than there are mega carriers. Go to Trucker’sPath, find all the fuel stops in your area. The smaller privately owned places. You will see, fueling there, the smaller fleets with 10-100 trucks. Go to these companies and talk face to face with the owner. Clean your story up and just tell him the basics that he needs to know, your experience and the accident. Leave everything else out. Do not mention the owner op thing.
2. The person that gives you a chance, show your appreciation by driving for him for at least a year. It will help restore your rep.
Six back quiet.TurkeyCreekJackJohnson Thanks this.
