This is my dilemma, I have a mortgage & bills to pay, I can't quit my job & attend school for 3 weeks with no paycheck at all. I'm looking for a paid cdl training company. I have not found a school in my area (St Louis, MO) that offers evening / weekend classes. I know that Prime only pays 200 a week while attending class & claims to pay 500 a week while you are with a driver trainer. How long can you expect to be with a trainer 2 months? 6 months? After that will you make some actual real money? I need to bring home at least 600 a week after deductions, is that a high expectation? I have read both good & negative comments about every single company I have researched. It seems to me that alot of the complainers had unrealistic expectations, I would imagine the recruiters filled their heads with bs .& some sounded to be straight up losers as well, (fired for smoking pot, canned because car was repo'd & couldn't get to work etc...)

You will be in school for 3 weeks and out with a trainer for up to 6 weeks.
After that you can expect to bring home anywhere between $400 and $800 a week for the first 6 months of solo. Companies with training programs don't offer night school. You pretty much commit 24/7 for the next several weeks. You will be paying a mortgage on a house you will see for a few days a month.

Not sure where you got your info but... Heres the truth. The $200 a week is an advance you receive BEFORE you get your CDL. Once you have your CDL and are an employee, its $600 a week MINIMUM. Any week you and your trainer run over 5000 miles, is paid at 12cpm. After you go solo, depending on division, base pay is 36cpm for reefer (I think) and 38cpm for flatbed. Not including any bonuses or extra pay you WILL receive. Theres a 5cpm bonus for cute trucks. Flatbed pays an extra 50 for tarping, and 25 for extra drops/pickups. Reefer pays 20 I believe. Youll get a lot more info on the Prime thread.

Yeah you're right I do remember now reading that the 200 is an advance. I'm getting confused with all these different "paid CDL training" programs. It's getting very discouraging, from what I'm finding out the only possible way I can train for 3 weeks with no pay, or a tiny advance is to have almost 0 debt & a very large savings balance.

If you get fired, you wont be hiring on at Prime. Theres ways of doing it, just got to put in the effort

You might want to wait for your finances to improve .

A whole lot of new drivers have problems,

and the mortgage companies don't accept excuses !
