I wanna be a broker when I grow up. Somebody post me a link. I can see the headlines already, "Big Bobs brokering service breaks it off in bend over Billy big rigging again for the 3rd time this week." Big Bob goes to the beach and Bend over Billy is stuck in the northeast.

Without experience she will not be able to get broker authority. So if she is going to work for someone then they would train her.

So, if you know something about this business then why would you throw your money away?

    Lilbit Thanks this.

I am a (former) driver who really enjoys this business but am tired of being on the road all the time. I don't know if it (freightbrokerbootcamp) is a scam or not but they sure do not consider replying to email or voice mail messages as a priority! I left a number of inquiries in the past 2 weeks with legitimate questions and was eager to get started right away but I have yet to get even JUST ONE reply or return call; Here I am trying to give them my money so just imagine their sense of "urgency" when they would OWE me money for my work!!
I am referring to both freightbrokerbootcamp.com AND Logistic Dynamics (the same company) including CEO Dennis Brown. I also found a man by the name of Ted Keyes who apparently works as an independent contractor / broker under them and is located not far from me in Southern California. He offers some kind of training (I am still vague as I never got direct answers and felt I was turning into a "pain in the #####") to become an agent working under him- Not much info is provided by him yet he needs all my personal info including identification / numbers before he answers any further questions. I have no clue how legit he is however when I Google him and his company, Green Meadows Productions (the name is a clue that the owner is involved in many ventures), I find a number of addresses and indeed a few different businesses they are involved in including multi- level marketing, which always makes me skeptical. I sent back the signature he needs to get started using Docu- Sign (very common app) and received a reply that they do not use that and I need to do it again.
I sent a message to Mr. Keyes letting him know that because it seems I am being told "Whoa! Slow down now- Let's not get too eager!" that I will look for another way to do this. His reply was "I wish you the best...".
Just my two sent cents worth; If anyone has suggestions for training, I would love to hear them... Thanks!

How do you know for certain that it is a scam? I am beginning to feel also they are not legit but I want to know for sure- They sure have no interest in returning messages; Here I WAS trying to shove my money down the guy's throat to order the program and I recvd NO replies when I asked a few questions, so I can only imagine what it will be like trying to get them to pay up if THEY owe US money for work we perform!!

Better off getting a job with a brokerage and learning it the old fashioned way, rather than falling for a scam. Or, you can learn it the hard way, on your own, and go broke. It takes time to develop contacts with shippers and carriers, and the best way to do that is under the guidance of someone who actually knows what they are doing.

Brock transportation I think will take on brokers without a book of business. They are nice folks. I learned the business working as a sub agent for a year and it was barely enough for me to make a decent living working as an independent agent. And there was a learning curve there. I got to talking with another independent agent a few months ago and he was telling me about paying $3500 to go to brokerage training and two months into working independently for a firm that will remain nameless, had yet to book his first load. Felt terrible for the guy. There are a lot of guys out there with the same story. Sucks for them. I didn't make #### as a sub agent, but it worked out better than coming off $2-3k for worthless training.
