is there any logical reason other than "it's been that way for years",that in california on I-5 channel 15 is used from I-210 to Hwy 46,then switched to channel 17 from there on up,yet 19 is used for east-west routes such as I-80 and SR-58,I-10 & I-8? and why is there no one on the radio from LA to San Diego? all this channel hopping seems to serve no logical purpose since on the 99 you will find drivers on 15,17&19 between SR-58 and Hwy 46.it's bad enough that half the drivers in CA speak another language that makes getting information from them impossible-why be so fragmented on different roads??? just makes no sense!!
can anyone tell me why?

Thats why I leave mine off and listen to my Sirius radio.
-
I use my ham radio to communicate with the real world when I am there. If they aren't on 20 or 40 meters, I have no need to talk to them.
-
yeah but none of that can do you any good when that "i can't drive 55" urge grabs your foot!
-
If the other states that I run in are any indication of CA the CB is not going to warn you any way. Its getting bad for not giving a bear report. -
You just have to know where you can fly. I don't do 55 anywhere in CA unless I see the cop. I have run the 15 north to Vegas at 75, not a single cop all the way. I did that back in October, but haven't been back since.

maybe i need to learn spanish as those guys do watch each other's backs! the other day crossing into CA from AZ the radio went silent from the state line almost to indio, couldn't get a response from anyone going east-got with a "mexican driven" truck and ran at his pace, when i heard the bleedover and he slowed, sure enough a bear was to be found!
