    Enquiring minds want to know!
I love your thread about dumb things you have seen, so I would love to hear about some of the things you have found! I could listen to those types of stories all day! I guess that's why a long time ago (too old now) I wanted to be in Law Enforcement.

    Dave,

Countless amounts of dope, money, about 10 guns, dope paraphernalia. Since I have been doing trucks, I still get dope but not like I did when I worked the road as a regular Trooper. Got all the guns out of 4 wheelers. Large sums of US currency, in trucks and 4 wheelers.

I have definately found some weird arse sheet as well. So far, I have searched 2 trucks that were driven by men, but had very large dildos and gay porn. Some weird arse people out there. I'm not surprised by much anymore when I'm searching.

It is illegal to have "large amounts" of money???? How much is too much? Seriously, I didn't know that as I never have any money! :)

Not illegal if you have a reason. Generally if there is more than $10K it has to be reported to the IRS, crossing State lines. When I have found $50k, $23K, $74K, and been with my partners when they found over $150K. We find them in duffel bags or hidden compartments and the driver "has no idea whose money it is." Money is seized and eventually turned over to the State as it goes unclaimed. You and I know what the money was for.

That I wasn't aware of. I'm going to have to research that. I don't often carry that kind of cash these days for basic security reasons, but I didn't know it had to be reported to the IRS.

Would "I'm feeling lucky, so i'm heading to Vegas after this load, $10k is for the Bunny Ranch and the rest i'm betting on Black" qualify as "a reason"? Lol:biggrin_25524:

I had no idea about the $10k+ across state lines must be reported. You learn something new every day.

Used to be if you showed to a bank to deposit currency above $100 bills...The banks would ask you where you got them.....
