How come they are going to write you up if you drive tired, or cheat on your logs or didn't take a full 10hr break and they are the ones that will come to wake you up because they think they have the power to do anything, if you are a dot officer, state trooper or whoever leo and you are not cool with truck drivers then you choose the wrong person to be rude with because it's stress enough to be away from the house nd the family to be worried about cops. State trooper no longer means protect and serve it's means more revenue for the state from truckers.

Cops can not do whatever they want and no you don't always have to comply but nicely explain to them when they are wrong, especially when they are asking you to operate outside of the confines of the law. Thats exactly what they are doing when your in your sleeper resting, out of hours and expect you to go on duty for an inspection.

This dot business is sad. I was just talking to my uncle about my grandfather that drove his whole life after serving in WW2. He never had an accident and was a hardworking honest man. If he was still around I don't think he would believe the over regulation and revenue collection that truckers are subjected to today.
Can you say police state? Lol

cops don't care if they're right or wrong. all they care about is their power.

25% of the cops in utah are under investigation. one of the suburb cities in salt lake has a new chief. the drug force was eliminated. for now. and by the time the investigation is over for the innocent shooting death of a 23 year lady. the entire force might be replaced.

some of you talk about politeness with the office and same will be returned. there's a very thin line between politeness and bullying.

and for those of you naysayers who requrest a link to back up such story or it's not true.

here's one of many stories to that incident.

I dont think its right for them to disturb a trucker parked resting, and so what if they began at 6am? Some truckers drive through the night and might just be going to sleep around that time....

They would have to shake my truck hard to wake me most of the time, i sleep through most things. I know a driver was beating on my window for awhile one morning and eventually started rocking it just to ask me if I could move a few feet, I asked which truck was theirs and told her no there's more than enough room then went back to sleep. I was in a designated spot and every other truck got out just fine.

DOT has drivers pinned under their thumbs, if they say shake a leg the driver will do it to keep from getting a fine....
