It's all electronic now. That office will report your passing to where you have your license. Also.... whoever?...DOT?...

Geesh... Md has a problem. Even us backward, slow states, can keep up on technology.
DougA Thanks this. -
I NEVER assume somebody else is getting a copy of my physical to the state...always fax it in myself. Why? Because then I know they got it. If the doctor's office or company also sends it in, then the state gets it 2 or 3 times...no big deal. What IS a big deal, though, is if they figure "it's your license, your responsibility" and you assume "they'll send it in for me" so NOBODY sends it in, resulting in YOUR license being downgraded.

I have a fax machine in my office. Doesn't cost me a cent to fax it in, and only takes the time necessary to dial a number. Send it in as soon as I get home from the doc. No need to sit there on hold while a state employee searches the database for the record.

Yes as long as the examiner is registered with the FMCSA. I once had a physical while waiting to get unloaded. Clinic right across the road. I walked in asked if they did DOT physicals and they pushed a clipboard with the forms in my face. Paid $45 and walked out with a two year card.
