While Danes were bred for hunting and guard dogs the instinct for hunting as it used to be has pretty much been bred out of them, however they make excellent guard dogs and obedience trial dogs. Ibizan Hounds those dogs are much more active than any Dane and are not as suitable for the truck.

As to the condition of my truck it was kept immaculate as I TOOK the time to groom the dogs on the road. I had extra filter systems in the truck, along with vacuum cleaners air hoses and doggie wet wipes. I would go so far as to say my dogs were cleaner that many of the drivers I have seen in the truck stop.

D14FEFA1-AE03-43C1-952E-78F8FB91239B.jpeg Yes, and here is proof. She has been riding with me since she was 13 weeks old. She is right at 80 lbs and about 15 months old.

Having said yes be aware that it will probably add 2 hours per day to your day. I carry her shot record and have to go the vet N the truck road twice. We have generally not had an issue finding pet friendly motels.

She is super but can also be a lot of work.

Just a note I have a more challenging time than some as my truck /trailer is 110’ long and am almost always on a state route plan

As far as being able to control my dogs. Every dog I have EVER owned has been in obedience trials and excelled. My dogs behave better than most children. As to the condition of my truck it was kept immaculate as I TOOK the time to groom the dogs on the road. I had extra filter systems in the truck, along with vacuum cleaners air hoses and doggie wet wipes. I would go so far as to say my dogs were cleaner that many of the drivers I have seen in the truck stop and my truck is certainly cleaner than most I have seen either when they open the door and crap falls out, or they post a picture and you see 5,6, cups on the floor junk all over the dash, Oh yea that's impressive.

There are hotels that accept dogs if there isn't one close by I can rent a car and go to a hotel that accepts dogs. In the worst case I would consider a boarding kennel.
