a clearing inspection has no meaning for a fix it inspection.

and how do you get a clearing inspection???? you got inspected. you had faults. your written up and stuck with it for 3 years. THEN it's moot.

pretty much what i was told over a nail in a tire losing air. got put oos till road call fixed.

Knew a guy years ago that got out a magic marker over duct tape to write the US in front of DOT. No ticket/warning, but obviously subject to the mood & sense of humor of the officer that day.

the points play differently between company and driver.

i've noticed changes after 6 and 12 and 18 months for the company. where as it's 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years for the driver.

i've also noticed no change for clean inspections. in the past 3 months we've had 25 clean, 1 bad. score still the same.

I BELIEVE I had heard that if it is present it has to be working. Fog lights are not mandatory, but if present they have to work.

Yup, US is required in front of USDOT. No question.

As far as ABS indicator lamps, we need to know what year the tractor is and what year the trailer is, please.
