NP, I didn't want to be an **** about it, but the question is a very good one for all of us to talk about.
IF you do go, follow the suggestions many of us give, get out there and sell yourself, even if you have a dry van. A lot of agents don't post loads on any load board, they have BCOs who contact them or keep a list of trucks they know they can depend on to call.
Can I get access to Landstar’s loadboard?

I have a rule of sticking with a company for at least a year before moving on. I’m thinking of making the switch this fall at the earliest. I need to talk with some of the agents that handle AA&E first to see if there is sufficient demand for my services. Landstar heavy and specialized has been advertising on the road dog trucking channel so they might actually need me.

Yes, thank you. I am a sponge. Learning a lot.
This.
Meant to reply to this right after you posted, but it was late.
The whole cpm assessment, while necessary, seemed to lack some important measuring sticks. My home time is very important to me, therefore my time away has value that I need to quantify. I can’t allow myself to sit at a truckstop all day protesting the rate, because the longer I sit, the better the rate needs to be. Progressively. However, I can’t devalue my services and take cheap freight and label myself. I can’t wait to play these games!!
I got lots of learnin to do. -
Very true, I got involved with them 26 years ago and haven’t been able to escape.
@blairandgretchen can attest to the fact you can’t make money leasing to a carrier.blairandgretchen and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Yeah, you, Blair, Double Yellow and others are celebrities in my research world.

That's insane.

I doubt any BCO at Landstar would do that. Most likely it is a violation of their contract. What good would it be anyways? Loadboard rates are loadboard rates whether you're inside Landstar as a BCO or an outside carrier looking at their outside board or DAT or ITS. Mostly scraps unless everything is hopping. So whatever you see is going to be the garbage which most of the BCO's that have been there a while don't want. They've made their connections and dont need the board. That's the name of the game whether you're leased to them or not.FoolsErrand and nikmirbre Thank this.

I think I may have ruined Blair’s work ethic. He tries to work less that me.
That said so far this year I haven’t pulled one load off the board.blairandgretchen and dwells40 Thank this.
