I wonder how often Google or some other mapping company updates their satellite maps. You might be able to zoom in enough with one of these and post it. Since you said recent changes, they probably won't have anything. By the time they do, I'm sure you'd have enough experience, and taken care of already.

Let us know how you make out! or in. (the driveway):biggrin_2559:

Sorry Pale, guess I missed that. I just know it's a viable alternative when everything else seems to not be working - at least in some cases anyway.

he'll get enough experience just at his house with this experiment that he'll be able to blind-side into a dock off a busy street in new york...... with his eyes closed !

I'm agreeing with you in that it can be done that way. This is one hell of an experiment that we want to know the results of.

I will let everyone know how it goes when I get my assigned truck. If I am lucky the trainer will pick me up at the house during phase 2 and I can check then. Google resolution for this area does not provide enough detail to be useful. I went back to the driving school today for practice since the last time I had been in a tractor was the DMV test near the end of October. Thought it might be a good idea before leaving for orientation tomorrow. I set up cones as close as I could to the driveway arrangement and practiced a good part of the day on that. All I can say is I think I can get the rig in. The tandems on the trailer I was practicing with had the tandems positioned where there was about 8' of trailer behind the tandems. I may have to push the woods back a little further.

Again, thanks to everyone for their help.

Try Zillow.com - don't know how much of the states they have mapped, but they have pretty good closeups on the houses they are mapping. Where I live, the tax assessors office also has their own version of satellite pics of each property.....

I could blindside it in there... but only if J were standing there telling me I couldn't. Then I'd have to do it just to be a *****.

I would get some solar lights, reflectors, reflective tape...any of those for the trees/driveway so if you have to back in at night.

Had not thought about night time backing. Good idea as that road does not have any lights on it.

    tks

in the planning stages. It's been quite a while since we've been updated. I wonder if he ripped a tree out? Or got stuck in the ditch? My personal prediction is that he is going to have to revise the blueprint a couple times. Or he can always have a yard jockey follow him home.... pay him by the week or by the month and... problem solved .
