Can I get hired with a misdemeanor?

I seriously doubt it will be a problem and on many (most) applications I don't even know that it would require a disclosure according to the way the question is worded.

I would think you could also get a haz-mat endorsement and TWIC card if you decided to, if that's all there is to be of concern.

The only time it might be an issue is maybe if you applied to haul sensitive cargo at a handful of places that run very extensive background checks and have very stringent hiring policies concerning misdemeanors as well as felonies.

 

Shouldn't be a problem. Your dispatcher will take you more seriously when you threaten to kick his @##

 

You need to get felon charge the dispatcher will show you more respect.

 

Someone else posted a similar thread you might want to check that one out too, so the answer is yes they will: it really just depends on what you did and also each company has different criteria for employing someone with a record, if you did no time in the slammer you should be ok anyway. Best thing to do is just talk with the company you'd like to work for, your honesty up front will impress them as well.
