That's good; lbcc probably doesn't push any particular trucking company. Intermodal companies probably recruit from there.
Do you want to run coast to coast or just stay in the West?

Do 2 years at trucking with a good driving record and sign on with Walmart. $82,000 starting pay but you will work for it.

Ports are great local opportunities if you can deal with lazy union workers.

Sounds like a good plan... I wonder do they have local schedules.

Intermodal companies hire new cdl grads for local work. You can run the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
The school can give you the best advice on that. You will need a hazmat endorsement and TWIC ID Card. The school will know what you should do about that; maybe the intermodal company will pay for it.

Making 65k and sleeping in your bed everyday beats being on the road 23 days a month for 32k a year just saying...

I have seen Walmart day cabs but I'm sure they don't pay anywhere near what an Over The Road driver gets and I'm sure those jobs are far and few between.

I would look into FedEx day job doing shuttle work where you swap off trailers then head home. That's still usually a 10 to 12 hour day for 5 days. Also check the web sites of major grocery chains. They usually do day trips from their distribution centers to the stores. You don't unload, they do.
