I had a kidney removed a year ago because of luckily discovering cancer very early. It had not spread, but it was near blood vessles and therefore the whole kidney was removed. All cancer gone... check-ups all good (including CT scan). I have a release signed by the Dr. with NO restrictions for work
However; there was a small bump near my scar after surgery. My Dr./Surgeon said that on the CT it was a small "suture Hernia". He said that It was not a problem... He has given me a full work release with NO restrictions for that also.
Do you think I will have any problems getting hired with the written releases in my hand?
Can I get hired with a small hernia?

Of the last 3 DOT physicals that I've heard of only one Dr. Checked the patient for hernias.

Why don't you get the hernia fixed? It won't stop you getting hired but if you have any pride in your overall health then you would not hesitate to get it sorted.

I got a hernia during a crash of my truck. The seat belt caused it. The repair was paid by workmen's comp. Cost $13,000 for the surgery. All of the nurses said I should have part of my body bronzed.
I believe you will not be disqualified from driving because of it. It will be hard to climb over things. Just make sure you answer the question truthfully if they ask you about previous damage. Lying is fraud. -
