First there is some misinformation here and some very good information. I am a felon. I have a passport. A felony does not prevent you from getting a passport. I however could not get a FAST card but I can enter Canada and have. I just can't drive a truck into Canada as of yet. I have never tried to drive a truck into Canada as the FAST card was turned down by the US government based on my criminal record. I have been told that if Canada approves my record that the US Government has no problem with issuing me a FAST card then.
What I would do if I was you is apply for the FAST card as mentioned. You should get it. If you don't the next step is to apply for the Criminal Rehabilitation that is mentioned above. If that is granted then reapply for the Fast Card. Since you live close to Canada you might try crossing in your private vehicle. I am sure they have no problem with you doing that.
Can I go to Canada
