Look i can empathise with everyones plight but if the job sucks, the shippers suck, and it's all "Just Not Fair" then for god sakes why do you guys keep doing it? I mean stop doing it if you think it all sucks and for no other reason than to stop wasting time that you will never get back in your life! Yesterday is gone......forever and tommorow just make a choice whether your going to go through the day with optimism or regret again.

Cmon your the pilot of your LIFE and it's too short to waste a day being miserable due to someone elses ethics or policies, either except the way it is or move on and be happy.....agreed?:biggrin_25521:

Dude rubber gears u couldn't have said it better. Really. If u can't take it out here or are just a lil biotch whiner then f'n go do somethin else! this line of work aint bout warm hearted welcomes and nice folks all the time. to be successful out here and generally not be miserable u just gotta do ur job, ####, make fun of things, and not take crap personally. fly under the radar so to speak, cuz ur not gonna stand out in a good way most likely. dont stand out in a bad way I like to say. otr life style aint easy, this isnt ur everyday job by far. sit down, shut up and drive or go home. find ways to keep urself entertained and amused or u will go crazy out here:biggrin_25525:

To be more realistic, you really need to divide your earnings by 168 (the number of hours in a week) instead of 40. The way I see it, if I'm not at home with my kids and wife, then I'm at work. So $1000 (the ideal paycheck) divided by 168 is just under 6 bucks an hour. If you want to, and take out the 7 ten hour breaks in the sleeper, you are then looking at a 98 hour week, which comes out to $10.20 an hour.

If we apply that same formula to my $164 check last week, I made $1.71 an hour.

    Good luck newbs!

I can't drive until the receiver opens up on Monday. They gave me my 700 mile weekend run yesterday, I'm all ready parked at a truckstop 14 miles from the receiver. Nothing left for me to do but sit here on my lil old laptop... If it was warmer outside, I'd find me a fishin hole someplace.

If my wife wasn't working, I'd be panicking. Seeing how she is, all I can do is laugh this stuff off and hope it gets better.

Cmon dude, are you kidding? Oh wait lets not pay attention to the $600.00 in deductions you had which would have brought your total to around $1400. + , seriously, Tax's are a necessary thing and always get taken out of checks:biggrin_25523: what else is new. But both weeks you earned around 1400. so whats the problem? After deductions $935.72, and if you did the same the next two weeks it goes to $1871.44 NET ! for the month. I could definatley live on that i don't see an issue really unless your spending more that your making and then that has nothing to do with the job and more to do with your ability to manage your money.:biggrin_25524:

Guy's there's area's out there that are paying good money (sure not great), you just have to move there. If you can't relocate for better opp. because of money then i fail to understand how it's the trucking industry's fault because you have no savings. Change jobs. My friend just (three weeks ago) graduated from a local trucking school in Tidewater Virginia and is now (with no exp) hired with a company driving an Oil truck local runs, home nights, making $16.75 per hour starting. You just need to put money away and prepare to relocate if needed. :biggrin_2556:
