Daniel. Don't sweat it that badly. Depending on where you haul to is where you'll be looking for good freight. There is produce coming out of the east believe it or not! Chicken pays fairly well and finding plants is not hard at all or their brokers if thats how you want to go. The NE many will say bites in freight but one load of ice cream makes the NE a viable run!
The non compete set that way is not hurting you at all! Also look at apples and apple products in VA and of course onions out of south Ga and peanuts but I never looked at those rates but a few calls off the boards should give you an idea of how to get a contract going with the shippers. You have the experience!
