I highly doubt it. Find your own shippers and cut the broker out of the picture.

Just keep in mind that after You pursue that they won't do business with You again.Dominick253, rank, freight-time and 2 others Thank this. -
Dominick253, freight-time and mp4694330 Thank this.

Yes you can, but also after you do they won't want to work with you again. If you want to test it find a cheap broker you never plan on working with again. Book a load and find out what they really charged.
Dominick253, tommymonza and freight-time Thank this. -
I wonder if there is a statute of limitations on that? I have burned a bridge or two already but have always been curious what they billed the customer anyway. Lol
Dominick253, rank and freight-time Thank this. -
At anytime you're leased to a company and know for a fact they're skimming off the top I always suggest:
Find a new carrier, secure yourself there.
Tell your current off the top skimming carrier you want to see what they really billed, which they will refuse. Before you get into legal law actions call all the brokers you hauled for through that carrier, send them the FMCSA regulation. This will make the brokers call the carrier and trust me you will get your money back from the carrier because those brokers will not want to work with them anymore.
This is of course If you have the loads confirmation (the price fixed one)Dominick253, rank and freight-time Thank this. -
If you don't want to do the load for the rate the broker is offering than don't do it, why is that so difficult for people? If you want to find your own loads that's awesome which will take time and effort to do, and if you let someone else take the load you would charge them since you put in the time and effort to find the load. If you can't find a load out of somewhere and need a broker to get loaded why would you be so worried about the rate, better than the zero dollar load you were able to secure.
Ruthless Thanks this. -
I'm not talking about the carrier. I know what they billed. I'm talking about the freight broker. It was a joke anyways.

We do need to know what the shipper is paying the broker.I feel like some times shippers are in cahoots with the broker. It shouldn't be any problem for the broker, or shipper to disclose the the shipping cost. When is the last time you ordered something ,and didn't see the shipping charge. Now that we're service providers ,why is it cool not to know what the freight charge is.
Dominick253 and FreightlinerGuy Thank this.
