My wife and I invested 89$ in a Thetford brand 2.5 gallon porta potty. avoid the bucket styles that WILL tip and offers no sealed compartment for waste. The Thetford is a two piece unit with a seal between the top and bottom. It features a small bellows pump to rinse fresh water stored in the top to the bottom part. A couple oz of chemical completely eliminates odors and breaks down waste. It is easily emptied at rest areas with a RV dump, or any plastic #### house located at shippers, construction sites etc. put it in a garbage bag as not to gross anyone out and rinse it out when you shower. In ten yrs we never spilled a drop. It's really nice not to have to leave the truck during a blizzard, or navigate thru a truck stop parking lot full of steaming piss in the middle of the night. There is no reason to have to deal with piss bottles or be uncomfortable after eating from the food truck..we drove Freightliners and Kenworths. The unit slid easily into the cabinets under the desk or bunk on the Kenworths. When the Cascadia came out we had to remove a cabinet door,,,but it was a beautiful set up. Good luck driver.

Most drivers I've run across just use the trash bag in the 5 gallon bucket method. Your miles may vary as to whether those same drivers actually dispose of it properly.

    NO.

There was a time we did that. Back in the 91 time period the Police all over did sweeps to EJECT trucks from side of the interstate. They still do sweeps. People were ramming into the back of the trailers and getting killed.

What I do have is a number of quiet spots such as US 322 before you get to US 15 from the west in PA above the river there is a little gravel spot you can sleep on. Others will park around you by morning.

If your asthma is uncontrolled or uncontrollable get out of the Industry before you get killed from it. It's truly either disabling or life threatening. One big reason is if you should die in that bunk, it will be a few days before that rig runs out of fuel and then the smells from your corpse that is decomposing will finally, maybe attract attention. The kind you do not wish on anyone.

What about your own truck does it's fumes cause asthma attacks?

    Respiratory Dysfunction
    §391.41(b)(5)
A person is physically qualified to drive a commercial motor
vehicle if that person:Has no established medical history or clinical diagnosis of a
respiratory dysfunction likely to interfere with ability to
control and drive a commercial motor vehicle safely.

Since a driver must be alert at all times, any change in
his or her mental state is in direct conflict with highway
safety. Even the slightest impairment in respiratory function
under emergency conditions (when greater oxygen supply
is necessary for performance) may be detrimental to safe
    driving.
There are many conditions that interfere with oxygen
exchange and may result in incapacitation, including
    emphysema, chronic asthma, carcinoma, tuberculosis,
chronic bronchitis and sleep apnea. If the medical
examiner detects a respiratory dysfunction, that in any way
is likely to interfere with the driver's ability to safely control
and drive a commercial motor vehicle, the driver must be
referred to a specialist for further evaluation and therapy.

This is an old post. I wonder if the guy is stil driving ? The new emission truck should be so clean idling it should not be a problem. In California the exhaust coming out of the truck is cleaner then the air going in.
