With enough time and money you can do anything. Ive never done that swap. But it should be cut and dry getting motor in. Wiring and cooling package will take some work to find what works and fits.

    Physically, yes. Anything is possible.

Legally, yes. The EPA allows you to replace an engine with an engine that is newer than the vehicle. If you were trying to go the other way, putting a 1982 engine into a 1999 truck, they frown upon that sort of thing.

    Reckon they would frown on my 1986 in a 1995? I did update... I took a 1981 out :).

ut oh, you messed up. Now the EPA engine swap enforcement checkpoints will be set-up throughout the country. Finding your one truck will be their crusade in the name of their Climate Change religion.

Lol, let them hunt. When they run the VIN they will find it was built in 94 and sold from the factory with NO ENGINE and wired for a Cummins :).

    Oxbow and baha Thank this.

Somebody else asked this question, and in the end it wouldn't fit. It originally had a 6v92 or even an 8v92, so the firewall didn't have enough room.

I know a lot if people love the 3406, especially a 'b', but unless you're pulling heavy, a DDEC IV in anything is a good step in the right direction.

    spyder7723 and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this.
