With enough time and money you can do anything. Ive never done that swap. But it should be cut and dry getting motor in. Wiring and cooling package will take some work to find what works and fits.

What was in it before
Might have to change out wiring harness for the ecm and other items.. Not sure
Don't tell me it had a Cat and you are down grading -
Physically, yes. Anything is possible.
Legally, yes. The EPA allows you to replace an engine with an engine that is newer than the vehicle. If you were trying to go the other way, putting a 1982 engine into a 1999 truck, they frown upon that sort of thing. -

Somebody else asked this question, and in the end it wouldn't fit. It originally had a 6v92 or even an 8v92, so the firewall didn't have enough room.
I know a lot if people love the 3406, especially a 'b', but unless you're pulling heavy, a DDEC IV in anything is a good step in the right direction.spyder7723 and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
Kustom Truck in Coosbay Oregon repowered an 86, I think, pete with a CARB compliant ISX.
