You can put anything you want in there! You can even use it as a urinal! However if you want your truck to run you only put DEF fluid in there.
Would you put milk in your gas tank? Same thing....
can i put water in my def tank?

From Wikipedia under UREA: "Urea serves an important role in the metabolism of nitrogen-containing compounds by animals and is the main nitrogen-containing substance in the urine of mammals."
From Wikipedia under Urine: "Urine is an aqueous solution of greater than 95% water, with the remaining constituents, in order of decreasing concentration urea 9.3 g/L, chloride 1.87 g/L, sodium 1.17 g/L, potassium 0.750 g/L, creatinine 0.670 g/L and other dissolved ions, inorganic and organic compounds."chompi Thanks this. -

Series 60 is electronic and always has been. It was installed new until 2008 or 9 with DPF. Hardly prehistoric.
-
Also Fitzgerald is putting series. 60's in their Pete 389 glider kits
skellr Thanks this. -
Don't tell that Pete sells guy !skellr Thanks this.
-
No, we know that and have no problem with it. They know how to do it. I am referring to the guy who buys a glider and thinks he can drop an old school engine in over the weekend and drive away!
-
I had the same question, since I have def in my sidebox too.
-
Just rotate it every 6 months or so and you will never have a problem. Note that the 2013 emissions trucks will have additional sensors to measure DEF quality which will make using non-compliant fluids more difficult.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
