It's called trip leasing. There should be a provision allowing it in your contract.
But the problem is in the details. Carrier's don't want to pay for cargo insurance on another carrier's load and no one has provisions for short term insurance.
Given the headaches involved, if a carrier needs extra capacity, it's easier to just broker the load.

Plate needs to be in your name, weather leased or not. Plate in someone else’s name, must have lease agreement to be legal. Same with Authority MC/DOT #s running under. Either in your name, or a lease agreement.

Even if you could do that LEGALLY. Where would you get loads from?
Brokers are gonna want your Mc number.
Other companies are not gonna let you please onto them and pull thier loads with somebodies else's plate.
I suppose if you had a friend with his own authority. He might be willing to take a chance. In the past I ran some loads during the winter for my neighbor. But we both knew it was wrong
