What if you got terminated from training and NOT given a reason and it goes down on your DAC Report as "Terminated from/during training and NOT re-hirable"?
Can I still work for a trucking company?

Hey there guys I just wanted some insite.. Pretty much I'm starting off my career with a mega company and after my training OTR with my trainer I have to go back home so I'll be leaving the company . In addition I had signed a contract where they would pay for my school if I stay with them for a number of time.
1) With that said I was wondering if I should I add that company in my resume as experience even if it's for a month.
2) Also can I still work for another company even though I breached the contract?
Thanks

You can list the company on your experience, but a month experience is essentially no experience in this business. I don't know the circumstances, but when you agreed to work for the company for a certain time period, then left after a month, you will be responsible for repaying them for your training. Why don't you go back to the same company and fulfill your contract? I doubt that breaking a contract will prevent you working for another carrier, but your former company could sue you and then garnish your wages to collect their money. If it were me I would try to go back to the company and try to stay the duration of your training. You could check your DAC to see what your company reported to them. Negative information could impact your ability to go with another carrier. It just depends on what is on your DAC. In any case, you will probably be limited to going with a carrier who trains inexperienced drivers. Most look for a minimum of 6-12 months experience.

Just a few comments about some of the comments I seen in this thread. First one is the CDL. It is NOT a Federally issued Document. It is a State Issued Document pursuant to the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986. This act established minimum requirements on the States and created the driver database preventing someone from holding 2 or more Licenses. If my memory is correct it come on line in 1992.
Next comment. For the most part a driver is hirable even with a DAC history by a company unless said driver has committed one of the big nono's They are truck abandonment and load abandonment, and multiple recent DUI's. Also if you have very recent charges of reckless driving or vehicular manslaughter you will have a problem. If you leave a load or a truck like that your are for the most part finished as a trucker. It is possible to drive but you won't get a job with any good company and it takes a long time to pay those dues. Reckless driving speaks for itself I think. The last thing is a positive on a UA/Alcohol test. If you test positive the likelihood this will show up on your DAC is very good.
If you have NOT did any of the above you should be able to get a job with most any trucking company that needs a warm body even if you owe outlaw trucking 5 thousand bucks for school.Trungster Thanks this. -
I never did any of the above you are commenting about.
