Can I take endorsement tests before I receive my cdl?

    I am about half way through my weekend cdl training classes. Can I go take tests for tankers and doubles and triples in the mean time before I take my road test?

    I'm in NC, and I DMV held all my test results for 90 days after I passed them so that I could just pay when I upgraded to the CDL. GA may have a similar program, won't hurt to call and ask them tomorrow.

    When I took the test for my permit I took the tanker and double/triple test at the same time. I'll be taking the hazmat test here eventually...

    Uh. When I got my permit years ago I took the tests for hazmat,Dbls/triples, and tankers. Of course this was pre 9/11,so I didn't have to pay for a background check. I keep hazmat because it gives me more employment and load opportunities.

    I took all six in the same sitting. Nj told me that the hazmat wont go on my cdl when issued unless i had my backround check done. It was done by my road test date.

    Yep just passed the tanker test yesterday. Failed the doubles triples yesterday went back today got a 100 so they told me they will save the endorsements for me until I get my cdl here in canton ga. Had my ap permit already.
