Can I take home time anywhere? (and other related questions)

Actually my last company had two ragged out company cars for the drivers to run errands in. A few drivers would take one to the local motel, go to Walmart or to a drug test. I've used them, but you can bobtail around. It's an individual company thing.

Off time on the road is actually fun. I wouldn't make any plans though because you might not make it there.

One time, two months in advance I made plans to spend 4th of July in St.Louis with the old lady. After numerous reinsurances I bought her a plain ticket, reserved the room and rented a rental car. July 2nd I was headed the opposite direction. I finally got there July 7th just in time to take the old lady back to the airport.

Though mad, I learned not to make anymore plans like that.

 

Probably but it will be a time limit. They won't let you borrow it go on a mini vacation. Most I've seen are 1hr time limit.

 

Call Enterprise they're supposed to pick you up right? Never tried it, lol.

 

They will. I was coming from NJ to statesville, nc but had to be home to close on a piece of property. I stopped at my company's terminal in high point, nc called enterprise and they picked me up at my truck. I drove home to the attorney's office, and came back the next morning. They brought me back to the truck, and I went and delivered my load.
