I first obtained it as a regular gps and now i want to use it for my tanker job. Is there any way i can updated to adapt to my situation so it wont send me through neighborhoods or give me bridge warnings etc.

You can most certainly use it as is. Make aure you download the common sense sign reader if you didnt already. Oh and the trip planner. It cost minutes, but worth it in my opinion.

    #### no, this isnt about paper maps being better. This is about using low tech computers and still using the mush between your ears.

A regular GPS might get you in a bind , i the dezl ones are made for trucks , i picked up my dezl 550 as a refurbished unit for 200.00 , still have to use common sense but its a 80 percent solution .
