I thought Cali had a law against not getting OT after 8 hours and 40 hours. I know Jersey law says same thing that OT must be paid. So, is the lack of OT after 40 a state thing or is there more to it?
can ltl not pay you ot after 8/40 in all states?

We, as "professionals", are exempt from overtime rules. That clause, professional, makes it so. Companies dictate their own OT rules. I had many a discussion wheni worked locally in California.

Isn't it interesting that we are professionals , yet considered unskilled labor? I guess that means we are professionally unskilled.

If you are a intrastate driver or have a job that directly supports said driver you are exempt by federal law. It is because driver love to give up there right without saying a word.
