I definitely agree, and my wife is supporting whatever decision I make about this issue as well which is huge.

They can do whatever they want, they have product to move, you can work as long as you want as long as you not driving. You are the captain of your own safety. You are also new so you have to prove yourself. again safety.

Correct i agree safety is paramount beyond just mine but those around me. I stare at my first and only child who is all of 9 months old and say is it worth to potenially have an accident and not come home, or be injured, ugh life ey.

Yes I found that out actually this morning talking to another driver. It's odd that we have the HOS regulation but can still work beyond it. Also we work the dock at our company then drive to terminal to terminal. Why isn't the dock work not couted against our HOS time?

you can 'work' as many hours as you like, you simply can not drive after 14.
you went off duty when you got out of the car that picked you up; simple as that.

I understand your point and the 14hr part, it simply doesn't make sense for us to work under the 14hr portion I guess is my issue with it beyond having the 11hr drive time of course being completely separate from that. Does it sort of make sense of what I'm trying to convey?

I have driven many hours to reach a customer. Call it Associated Grocers which is a Independant distribution that supports similar grocery stores in St Louis for example. There is a lumping load in my trailer that is a horrible mess, piled up and only god knows what SKU's Product codes and whatever else is inside those things until I have a pencil and am handed the spreadsheet to mark off each and every one. I may have just finished driving 10 hours to get there from the midwest, sit through the night watching for knifers waiting for the dock (Technically onduty) and get started with that wretched load towards morning.

Sometimes I do not finish until another 24 hours have passed. All of it in that trailer physically working.

As far as the logbook is concerned, the actual time spent unloading does not matter PROVIDED YOU DO NOT DRIVE A INCH until you have had 10 hours off duty or 8 in the sleeper berth. Especially with today's ELD. (In my time we had used what is called personal conveyance)

I appreciate the good response to my question, there are occasional times certain personality types do not mix well in trucking. (I blame two seperate companies that issued me actual mandatry mental health training rammed down my throat related to personalities, traits and other things related to trucking. it cost the company alot of money to do this.) And some are flat abused or used because they literally do not say no or say enough is enough of this.

In regards to Anti Corection Laws, this is strictly from the God of all things trucking in the FMCSA Temple itself, you can read this page and learn all about it straight as it should be for all of us to understand.

    Coercion

The second link presents a sort of a simple slide show or powerpoint in PDF I think that gives you a taste of what is possible in prosecuting violators. It's a little dated and has a couple of gems within it. Something for everyone. (Including a very good 26,001 class B or A CDL or not? chart)
