I would like to support you on this because you are a female and we women need to stick together but I can't.If its your fault for getting stuck and having a wrecker come get you out then you are responsible for the bill.I have got stuck before and I paid for it.It wouldn't be so bad if you wasn't about to quit this company because then they would only take so much a week out till it's paid. Also you can't take upon yourself you take that load to the yard without your dispatcher's approval otherwise you're going to receive a service failure on your DAC.
Can my company take money out of my check for a tow bill?

Plain truth.
You may have made a mistake in how you parked.
The company can not, can not, charge you for the tow bill.
People do stupid things at work everyday. It is part of doing business. You expect someone to make a mistake of some kind.
Don't let other people on an internet board lay a guilt trip on you.
Things happen. It is all a learning experience.
The only perfect truck drivers I ever met were sitting at the coffee counter telling tall tales.stayinback Thanks this. -
To to answer the OPs original question though...yes...I would expect to pick up the cost of the tow in this situation. -
Either way, not every company uses such crap. My last job went looking for mine, and there's no record of me. That was the only place that mentioned DAC. And it will be the last. If I something happens to my current job, and I interview with a company that requests a DAC report, the interview is over..b I have nothing to hide, but if they can't take my word, screw'emMJ1657 Thanks this. -
What kind of place are you parking where rain makes your truck slide to the point you are drastically stuck?

My first response to the employer would be "I did not authorize a payroll deduction". See what their reaction is. If it's not favorable, then take action as mentioned in previous posts.
superflow and stayinback Thank this. -
CORRECT, An employer CANNOT withhold any earnings from said forth employee, UNLESS employee has signed a contractual obligation for damages,tows,etc..
Even then,I don't believe that would hold up in a state hearing or a unemployment hearing
As a business owner,I know this law, And here in Illinois, You Will Pay the price for withholding wages from an employee -
